Royal Wedding Garden Party
On Friday 18th May 2018, we celebrate the Royal Wedding with our very own Royal Garden Party. Children and staff dressed in red, white and blue as we waved the colours of our Union Jack. We enjoyed a feast of traditional British food and desserts in the glorious sunshine. We even had a special visitor who came to cut the cake! We spent the afternoon playing party games and celebrated the Royal Wedding in style. What a fantastic celebration!
During the last week of April 2018 we had an inter-school competition at Bluebell as another local school came in to play console games, board games, racing games etc.
A fantastic time was had by all and the visiting school staff commented on how great our pupils were and how well behaved. All the children enjoyed the whole event with lots of smiles and good spirited competitiveness.
The only suggestion for improving on the event was to...
"...make it longer..."
What great feedback.
A massive congratulations to all participating students - you did us PROUD yet again.
Representatives from each class took part in a swimming gala against Hopedale this term. All of our students gave it their all and came back to school dripping in medals. Opportunities like these allow our students to engage positively with new people and realise that itís not always about winning, itís about taking part that matters. We are incredibly proud of all our students and the Hopedale students who took part!
We have enjoyed building positive relationships with the local emergency services this academic year. Our students got the opportunity to meet the local fire fighters and paramedics this term. They asked questions about their careers, their roles and the equipment that they use. The students enjoyed sitting in the fire engine and testing out some of the equipment too! Again, the fire fighters and paramedics were singing the praises of our students and how well-behaved they were. They truly are a credit to our school.
We had some very exciting visitors at Bluebell School this term! Charlotte from Zoo2U brought some friends along with her to do an assembly about caring for animals. We met a bearded dragon, a barn owl, a guinea pig and a tortoise (psst, ask your children if they can remember what their names are). All of the students listened attentively while Charlotte shared information about each animal and had the opportunity to interact with the animals. Charlotte commented on how well-mannered all of the students were and how kind they were towards the animals. We are so proud of how gentle and calm our students were while interacting with the animals.
Bluebell School held its first Christmas Nativity this year. We were aware that some of our students have never had the opportunity to have key roles in performances like this before and may have felt a bit anxious, but we were so proud that every single student in the school participated in the nativity with a positive attitude. We had singers, narrators, actors, AND a behind the scenes crew. Thank you to all of the parents and carers for making this such a special and memorable event. There were no dry eyes left in the house by the end of the nativity. We are looking forward to making this an annual event. Roll on Christmas 2018! P.S. Can you guess who the honourable guest was at the end of the nativity?
